A bit about Castle Brook care home

Welcome to Castle Brook, located on Common Lane in Kenilworth. The home combines support with care that helps residents live life as independently as possible.

What type of care do we provide?

At Fairfield, we provide:

  • Residential care – long-term, 24-hour support for older people
  • Dementia care – supporting people living with dementia
  • Respite care – short-term stays to give carers a break or help someone recover after an illness

We take the time to understand each resident and their loved ones, making sure care fits around the way they like to live.

Spaces that feel like home

Castle Brook has 88 furnished bedrooms in total which feature floor-to-ceiling windows, ensuite bathrooms, and TV and telephone connections.

The home is made up of several small households, each with an open-plan lounge, dining area, and domestic-style kitchen. Residents and family members can make their own snacks and drinks, or full meal. They can also get involved in the washing up and other housekeeping activities if they want to.

We've designed the households in one of three lifestyles based on town, country and classical living. Hobbies, interests and local information are represented in the hallway decorations. This is because we recognise that the space in-between places creates more opportunities for conversation and reminiscence..

For couples or close relatives who wish to stay together, there are spacious ground-floor double apartments with their own lounge, kitchenette, bathroom and private patio garden, and the home is fully accessible for wheelchair users.

Life at Castle Brook

Daily life centres around the living areas where residents get together and socialise or spend time with their friends and family. Residents can choose to:

  • take part in regular activities such as crafts, baking, gentle exercise and games, with sessions tailored to individual interests
  • spend time outdoors in the garden or have a go on the side-by-side bike
  • play a game of bowls on the rooftop bowling green or table tennis inside
  • join in with one-to-one and group music sessions led by WCS Care’s Community Musicians
  • visit the on-site salon, cinema or shop
  • go out on local trips on the Memory Maker minibus to parks, shops and attractions, which is wheelchair accessible and open to families who want to join in to make new memories

Castle Brook benefits from night-time acoustic monitoring, which allows staff to respond quickly if someone needs support during the night, but leaves those who are sleeping well to rest without being disturbed.
