Ed Russell - Chief Executive

Ed has over 30 years’ experience working in health and social care in the not-for-profit sector. Joining WCS Care in 1992, Ed progressed from Care Worker to Chief Executive leading WCS Care as an award-winning not-for-profit care provider in Warwickshire, England.

Known for use of technology and embedding new, innovative ways of working WCS was the first UK provider to successfully install acoustic night-time monitoring and circadian lighting, and recently opened a pioneering care village in Warwick which is modelled on a Dutch facility that connects residents to normal life and improves wellbeing.

Ed is a carer at heart, and is passionate about helping people live better lives in care homes and elevating the roles of the amazing people who work in them. He’s helping to build a better kind of residential care for the future.

Outside of work, Ed regularly contributes to the family farm where he lives in the Warwickshire countryside, ploughing fields or helping out with lambing. In his spare time he’s a keen cricketer with a passion for classic cars.
